Hi there! Abbie here, your friendly designer and organizer. I’m here to help you create a neater place.

Are you dreaming of living in a magazine-worthy home? You know the kind- calm, beautiful, clutter-free, and somehow always ready for guests.

It’s a lovely dream, but real life is busy. Travel, kids, sports, hobbies, work, family, schedules, and just plain living have a way of turning even the most beautiful spaces into overwhelming chaos. Suddenly your home feels less “magazine spread” and more “what even is all this stuff and where did it come from?!”

I get it, because that was me.

Despite my design degree, career in visual design, and love for creating joyful spaces, parenthood and an injury turned my home into a stressful mess. I didn’t have systems in place to support the life I was actually living because I was too focused on what my home used to be, and what I thought it should look like.

Everything changed when I shifted my focus toward creating systems that supported my real, everyday life. Through thoughtful space planning, decluttering, and a little help from my own team of elves, I transformed my home into a functional haven for my family (and all our stuff). The shift was life-changing, and it inspired me to found A Neater Place in 2020. My mission is to help others experience that same sense of calm, clarity, and peace in their homes.

People often assume I have a perfectly tidy home, but the truth is- I don’t! I don’t want to live in a magazine anymore. I want to live in a home that is visually appealing, peaceful, and functional. I want to spend more time hanging out with family and friends, and less time hunting for missing shoes and keys. I’ve created systems that support our beautifully chaotic stage of life so we can spend less time managing our stuff and more time enjoying our lives together.

Getting organized isn’t just about pretty shelves (although those definitely don’t hurt). It’s about reducing stress and creating spaces that actually work for your life. Think of it as decluttering therapy, like unplugging the drain on a sink full of stress. And who knows… you might even rediscover that missing remote.
